Free Shred Day at the Oakland Library

The Ruth Enlow Library of Garrett County and Sunrise Shred are partnering to offer a free paper-shredding event for the public on Monday, June 18 from 3 – 6 p.m. at the Oakland Library. “Sunrise Shred provides world class document destruction and media destruction services and top tier customer service while working to conserve our environment and support our local community,” noted Traci Royce, Business Development Associate for the company.

The Sunrise shred truck will be located in the parking area behind the Oakland Library, accessed by the alley off Center Street and across from Our Town Theatre. Members of the community are encouraged to bring any documents that need shredding, such as credit applications, returned checks, personal information of any kind, investment and tax data – anything that is considered confidential. “Your documents will be shredded onsite while you are present,” said Royce. “Your identity matters, and Sunrise Shred wants to raise community awareness of keeping your confidential information secure.”

For questions about the event, contact the library at 301-334-3996, extension 0117 or email events@relib.net.
