Dans Mountain State Park 17410 Recreation Area Rd SW, Lonaconing

Help park staff improve recreation opportunities on the Lonacona Loop by building a new connector trail that will provide sustainable, shorter loops to enjoy—on May 4 and 18, from 9:00 AM to noon. No tools or experience are needed—just a willingness to work hard, learn new skills, and enjoy the company of fellow trail enthusiasts. Please bring your own water, work gloves, and comfortable work boots. Free pizza will be provided at noon, courtesy of the Dans Mountain Volunteer Team.

The club meets once a month for coffee and snacks while sharing insights and thoughts about a nature-themed book. Participants who attend six club meetings will receive a free night of camping. Join us for a super fun bike and hike as part of the DCL Lions Club Heritage Festival. This event is like a game where you ride your bike to different places and learn cool things about Meshach Browning and Garrett County history. Here’s how it works:Gather your team --of at least 2-- for an adventure! As you ride our course, you will pick up cards with questions about history. Some places are close and easy to get to, so the questions there give you a few points. But if you ride further and explore more, the questions are harder and you can earn more points! This adventure bike ride is free! It’s a great way to have fun with your family, ride your bike, and learn new things! So, grab your bikes, put on your helmets, and let’s go on a family bike adventure! Great Strides Walk

Mountain Fresh Farmers Market South 1st street at Town Park Lane, Oakland

Cindy's Fund is hosting a walkathon in downtown Oakland on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM (registration begins at noon). The fee is $35 for all participants, which includes a shirt. Children in strollers can participate for free (no registration or shirt included). Walkers can check in starting at noon. The walk will be in three stages to accommodate all fitness levels. Advanced walkers will begin at 1:00 PM, walk 3 miles, and follow the blue trail markings. Intermediate walkers will start at 1:15 PM, walk 2 miles, and follow the yellow trail markings. Beginner walkers will start at 1:30 PM, walk 1 mile, and follow the red trail markings. The trails will be mostly paved, but some areas may include gravel or woodland paths. For safety reasons, the climb to the cross will not be included. Food will be available for purchase before and after the event. Extra t-shirts may be available for purchase on-site for $15.
