Want to help preserve our regional biodiversity? Bring your work gloves, kneeling pads, favorite weeding tools, and some elbow grease to remove unwanted plants from the garden. As you work, you'll learn how to identify common weeds and why protecting native plants is so critical for wildlife. Meet at the native plant garden near the Lake House. Please bring your own water bottle, insect repellent, and sunscreen.

Wisp Resort will host its annual Stage Wisp Concert Series during Summer 2024. The free 9-week concert series will showcase a wide variety of musical entertainment every Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM in July and August plus the 4th of July. Beginning at 5:00 PM, the Farm and Art Market will welcome guests to shop and mingle with local vendors and artisans who offer an array of fresh produce, gifts, and unique goods. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, blankets, and dancing shoes. Food and drink, including seasonal brews and barbeque, will be available for sale. The MCC crew will guide you through the closest cove. This program will teach you the basics of canoeing. Registration can be done at the Discovery Center desk with a $10 payment. Guardians must remain present for anyone under 18.

Gravity- the force that pulls things down to earth, can make rocket launching tricky, but not impossible. New Germany State Park will host Junior Ranger "Park Pals", a free program designed for children ages 5-7, every Thursday from July 11 through August 8. Each week will feature a nature-themed program, such as identifying mammals, searching for amphibians and reptiles, fishing, growing mushrooms, and arts and crafts. All children must be supervised by a parent or guardian. The programs are free (supported by the Friends of New Germany State Park), but donations are welcome.
