Autumn Glory 5K Run / 2-Mile Walk
Broadford Lake 120 Recreation Ln off Rt. 135 in Mt. Lake Park, Mountain Lake Park, MD, United StatesKick off your Autumn Glory weekend with a run through idyllic Broadford Park. The Oakland/Mountain Lake Park Lions Club hosts the Autumn Glory 5K Run and 2-Mile Walk on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Broadford Lake. 5K runners start at 8:30 a.m., with 2-mile walkers following at 8:40 a.m. Runners may walk, but walkers should refrain from running. Race-day registration and packet pick-up begin at 7:00 a.m. All activities take place outdoors or under an open pavilion, so be prepared for the weather. Parking is next to the start/finish. The course follows Broadford Lake across the breast dam to Simon Pearce glass blowing and back, over a mixture of pavement, mowed grass trails, and gravel road. Bib numbers are recorded manually at the finish (no chip timing), so please wear your bib visibly on the front of your outfit and be sure it is recorded as you exit the finish chute. Mythology meets modern tradition as we gather to pay respects to Ullr, the Norse god of winter, in anticipation of another great season of skiing and snowboarding. DJ starts at 6pm, with a grand bonfire and solo stoves burning all night. This is a family friendly, all ages event. There is no cover charge, and parking is free.
