Town of Friendsville Fall Leaf Pick-Up
The Town of Friendsville will conduct its Fall Leaf Pick-Up starting Monday, September 28, through Monday, November 23, 2026. Please follow these collection guidelines: Place all leaves at the edge of your property along the roadway in a pile, not a row. Ensure piles are free of sticks, branches, flowers, and other debris. Note that collection dates are weather permitting. Help keep Friendsville clean and beautiful this autumn!

AJ’s Adventures Halloween Ride at Wolf Den Run State Park
Same trails, darker nights, bigger thrills. AJ's Adventures is hosting a Halloween Ride on the trails of the Huckleberry Rocks Area at Wolf Den Run State Park over three nights leading up to Halloween. Riders can rent one of AJ's machines or bring their own. Ride times are: • Thursday, Oct. 29, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. • Friday, Oct. 30, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. • Saturday, Oct. 31, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. No reservation is required, so riders can just show up, but booking ahead guarantees a time slot. There is no age limit for passengers. ATV operators must be 16 or older, and side-by-side operators must be 18 or older. The Huckleberry Rocks Area is located at 890 North Hill Road in Kitzmiller. Dead Park: Circus of Shadows Halloween Party at VFW Post 10077
You're invited, if you dare. VFW Post 10077 in Deer Park is transforming into Dead Park: Circus of Shadows for its adult Halloween party on Saturday, Oct. 31, starting at 8 p.m. and running until after the bewitching hour. Step right up for fun and fright, creepy cocktails, games and prizes, music and mayhem with a DJ, and candy, treats and more. Costumes are encouraged, and there will be a costume contest. Guests are invited to bring a scary side dish to share and a lit pumpkin for another round of judging. Admission is pay what you can at the door, and the money raised goes to the post's Kids Christmas Party in December. Guests must be 21 or older. Trapper Education Course
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is offering a Trapper Education Course on Saturday, November 1, from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM at New Germany State Park Lake House. Anyone who wishes to trap furbearers under the authority of a Furbearer Permit must first obtain a certificate of trapper education. In order to pass this course and obtain a Maryland trapper certification card, participants must: 1. Participate in trap handling/field exercises; and 2. Pass a written test (50 questions) with a score of at least 70%. Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The course is free, but registration is required.
