Sustainability in the Alleghenies: City of Frostburg Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026 • 10 a.m. to noon Parris N. Glendening Recreation Complex, Shaw Street and Delano Avenue, Frostburg Sustainable Maryland is hosting a free guided bus tour of the City of Frostburg. The tour is aimed at elected officials, municipal staff, Green Team members, local activists and engaged residents. You'll see up close what a sustainable city looks like and hear from the people who run it. The tour features hands-on, real-world sustainability projects that you can take back to your own community and replicate. The tour is led by city staff, elected officials and Green Team members. Attendees will learn about these sites in Frostburg, a small city of about 7,000 people: Edible Arboretum (food forest) City Place, the Buy Nothing event and farmers market location DC fast EV charging stations Hoffman Park's woodland trail and nature-themed playground A parking lot with EV charging, e-bike charging and police EVs Centennial Hill pumping station The tour is free, but space is limited and registration is required.
