Join Polska Polish Pottery of Deep Creek Lake for a weekly Tuesday Scavenger Hunt benefiting local charities! Sign up your team now (max of 20 teams) and get ready for a fun and exciting competition! The hunt begins at 9:30 AM (but teams are welcome to join until 6:00 PM) on Tuesday at Polska Polish Pottery at Dry Dock Plaza (next to McDonald's). Teams will receive the rules and will have two hours to complete a series of tasks. Each task earns points for your team. The top 3 teams will each receive a gift! Prizes will be awarded at 9:30 AM on Wednesday at Polska Polish Pottery. Team costumes are encouraged! The team registration fee is $25, payable at Polska Polish Pottery. All fees will be donated to a local charity! Occurring on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at the Grantsville branch, representatives from the Garrett County Department of Social Services will be in the library to serve the community through their assistance outreach program. Customers can come to see a DSS staff person at any of these locations to pick up paperwork, drop off paperwork, apply for services like SNAP, CASH Assistance, and Medical Assistance, or just ask questions about the programs and services offered by our agency. Staff can also provide referrals to other community agencies if we do not have a program to address the person’s needs. ANYONE can access ANY of these locations. This schedule provides flexibility to our customers who may be working in communities away from their homes, or who may be facing transportation challenges. These locations also provide support to our customers by making DSS forms available to customers during the location’s open hours of business. Customers can look for the file box labeled “DSS FORMS” to pick up forms, information, or a pre-paid envelope in which to return completed forms to our office for processing.
