The weather today will be cloudy. Patchy fog in the morning. Showers, with a chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then a chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon-highs in the upper 50s and a low of 42. Southeast winds of around 5 to 10 mph, becoming north in the afternoon. The chance of rain is 90%.

Garrett County law enforcement held their second annual Fish with a Cop event at Accident Pond, pairing kids with officers for a fun day of fishing, games, and food. The event strengthened relationships between police and the community and was a huge success!

Garrett Regional Medical Center marked National Volunteer Week, honoring those who selflessly give their time to better their community. The annual event celebrated in the third week of April, shines a spotlight on these inspiring individuals.

Giancarlo Bernardo and Wyatt Slocum, international students from Canada at Garrett College, visited Crellin Elementary School in April. They spoke to students in grades 2-5 about their country, covering topics like the flag, money, exports, climate, food, sports, and landmarks.

Today, the Garrett County Board of Education will convene its usual monthly meeting at the Northern Middle School cafeteria. The meeting is open to the public, and for those unable to attend in person, it will be available for public review through a live stream.
