Thursday July 20, 2023: I can’t wait to see several of you at the beginner’s bike event this evening! Meet Deep Creek Adventure Bureau tonight at 5:45 PM and take a ride starting at 6:00 PM. Ladies, it’s your chance to connect with fellow bike riders and hone your trail skills at Broadford Lake Park.

The weather today will be partly sunny. Scattered showers, with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon—highs in the upper 70s and a low of 62. Southwest winds of around 5 to 10 mph. The chance of rain is 40%.

The Mountain Maryland Gateway to the West Heritage Area’s Mini-Grant Program is open for applications. It offers up to $5,000.00 in one-to-one cash or in-kind matching grants to support non-capital projects like exhibits, tours, events, planning, and projects aligning with the area’s interpretive themes: Transportation, Man and Nature, Historic Recreation, and Cultural Uniqueness.

Notice: Sanders Lane closure today, July 20, 2023, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM for culvert replacement. It will be closed between Snaggy Road and Browning Farm Lane.

Another road closure note: CSX Transportation will conduct maintenance and repair work on the railroad crossings at Loch Lynn/Gorman Road and Swanton Road. The work is scheduled from Tuesday, July 25, 2023, through Friday, July 28, 2023. For further details, check here.
