Applications for the 2026 Maryland black bear hunt lottery are open from July 15 through August 31 for the upcoming October season in Allegany, Frederick, Garrett, and Washington counties. A total of 1,050 permits are available this year, and hunters can apply online, via phone, or through a license agent to secure their spot.
