What do you think? According to a recent study, there is a disconnect between blue-collar workers and college-educated individuals in Maryland. The study found that 34% of blue-collar workers felt that their college-educated peers did not respect or value them. Additionally, individuals in Maryland who did not attend college tended to have social connections and friendships primarily within their local community rather than beyond it.

Garrett County Public Schools will dismiss students three (3) hours early tomorrow Friday, February 17, 2023, for Staff Development in the afternoon. This will be a county-wide professional development day and also, in honor of Presidents’ Day, all schools and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, February 20, 2023.

Garrett County Public Schools is now collecting feedback on the proposed 2023-2024 school calendars.

Representatives from the Garrett County Department of Social Services will be at the Kitzmiller branch library today as part of their assistance outreach program, providing support to the community.
