Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) has officially announced the closure of the Southern Middle School building. The school will undergo extensive renovations to become the new Broad Ford Elementary.
We understand that this may be a challenging time for parents and guardians of students. In light of this transition, we encourage those needing assistance to contact Southern High School. Rising seventh-, eighth-, and ninth-grade students will attend classes at Southern High School beginning with the upcoming fall term.
Please note that access to the existing Southern Middle building has been terminated. We appreciate the community’s understanding and support during this transition period.
