Sprinkles & Sourdough is more than just a bread shop—it’s a warm, welcoming space built around good bread and thoughtful living. We’re proud to offer fresh, artisan-crafted sourdough breads alongside a lineup of sweets, including our ever-sought-after sea salt brown butter sourdough chocolate chip cookies. Beyond the baked goods, our curated kitchen boutique is filled with sustainable, eco-friendly finds, from handcrafted bread knives and cementware to reclaimed wood pieces, custom aprons, oven mitts, beautiful baskets, and essential sourdough baking tools. You’ll also find a cooler stocked with cold drinks and a growing “eat local” pantry featuring goods sourced in partnership with our local farmers market vendors. It’s a place to gather, shop, and celebrate all things handmade, local, and delicious!

We officially open on Saturday, August 15, at 9:00 AM, with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, August 19, at 4:00 PM. Regular hours will be Wednesday through Saturday, opening at 9:00 AM each day, though we may adjust as we go along. Please note that hours during the first two weeks will be a bit sporadic due to prior commitments, so our Facebook page is the best place to check for updates!

Something new has arrived in Oakland! Brewery and the Beast Social House is officially open, bringing great food, craft brews, and a welcoming community space to the neighborhood. The doors are open Tuesdays from 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM, Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM, and Sundays from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM (closed Mondays). As of May 1, Black Bear Partners officially took ownership of the Black Bear Tavern with plans to restore its reputation as a premier destination for food, drinks, and entertainment. The new ownership group, consisting of Warren and Barb Porter, Mark and Mollie Cicacci, and local resident Nick Senella, is dedicated to working alongside the current staff to build on the tavern’s traditions. Looking ahead, the venue is launching a full summer lineup of karaoke, live music, DJs, and special events to create a welcoming atmosphere for both locals and visitors.

The iconic elephant statue that has been a staple for decades is moving to a conservation center. A new elephant will be arriving to take its place on Saturday, May 16. Be sure to stop by Deep Creek UNO this weekend to see the new addition.

Traders Coffee House has officially opened its Fresh Kneads stand, bringing a lineup of freshly baked favorites to customers. This weekend’s offerings include focaccia, honey wheat bread, pepperoni bread, English muffins, and their well-loved cinnamon roll tins. The stand is open until 6:00 PM.

Lakeside Creamery North is now open! In addition to the original Lakeside Creamery located right on Deep Creek Lake, the business has expanded to a new location at 25297 Garrett Hwy, McHenry, MD 21541 (next to Archie’s BBQ)! Lakeside Creamery North offers scoops and soft serve (sorry, no quarts).

Get ready for a tasty treat this May! Polska’s Pierogi N’at, a new pierogi food cart, will be serving up delicious Polish dumplings every Saturday in the parking lot of Polska Polish Pottery of Deep Creek Lake.
