Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be available at the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad in Oakland on May 1st from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM to provide free Car Seat Checks to the public. Technicians will complete a checklist and assist parents and caregivers to learn how to install their child’s car seat. “We are excited to have this opportunity available!” said Maria Friend, Early Care Programs Director, “All parents can benefit from professional installation assistance to be sure their child’s car seat is properly installed!” Appointments are preferred. Everyone is invited to attend our Life is a Masquerade Community Dance, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad in Mtn. Lake Park. There is no fee for admission, but donations are encouraged with proceeds to benefit the Liberty Club in Oakland. Guests may dress up as fancy or as casually as they like, with the main requirement being that a mask be worn by all. Masks will be provided at the door for those who do not have the means or wish to obtain a mask prior to the event. The Liberty Club is where, on a daily basis, recovery meetings are offered to help those who struggle with addiction and substance abuse disorders. It is where we learn how to live a clean and sober life, but also how to just be better - to ourselves as well as to our friends, families, and community. It is our home away from home.
