Maryland Is 2024's State That Helps Homeless People the 4th Most (Deep Creek Lake, MD)

With over 650,000 people experiencing homelessness in the U.S., the non-profit organization SmileHub today released new reports on the Best Charities for Homeless Support and the States That Help Homeless People the Most in 2024.

To highlight the states doing the best job to help the homeless and the ones that need to improve the most, SmileHub compared each of the 50 states based on 20 key metrics. The data set ranges from the share of unsheltered homeless individuals to the amount of work hours needed to afford housing to the presence of anti-homeless policies.
