At the POA meeting on June 22, 2024, a DNR executive asserted the legality of renting private docks on Deep Creek Lake, contrary to past practice and COMAR rules. The Policy and Review Board (PRB) disputes this claim and will address it at their quarterly meeting on July 29, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Discovery Center. This discussion could potentially increase the number of boats on the lake significantly. The PRB, POA, and County are currently investigating this matter both legally and with the DNR. Please RSVP if you plan to attend the meeting in person; in case of a larger turnout, we may relocate to the college and will notify attendees via email.
