Garrett County Chamber of Commerce Announces 2024 Autumn Glory Fall Foliage Tours (Deep Creek Lake, MD)

The Mountain Maryland Gateway to the West Heritage Area, a program of the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce the 2024 Autumn Glory Fall Foliage Tours. Team One GMC is the title sponsor of the 57th annual Autumn Glory Festival.

Travel along some of Garrett County’s most scenic routes. Enjoy spectacular fall foliage, panoramic vistas, heritage sites, and stunning natural features. This year, the Chamber is offering two new Fall Foliage tour routes, one in the North and another in the South. The Southern tour includes Fort Alice and Mountain Lake Park. The Northern tour includes the Historic National Road and Grantsville.

Both tours are available online at garrettheritage.com/fall-foliage-driving-tours, via Google Maps or stop into the Garrett County Visitors Center from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily at 15 Visitors Center Drive in McHenry to pick up a copy of the Fall Foliage Driving tours. Garrett County’s fall foliage typically begins in late September and peaks in mid-October, though actual peak time may vary by year.

The 57th Annual Autumn Glory Festival will be held from October 9 – 13 in Garrett County, Maryland with a Grand Feature Parade, the Official Maryland State Banjo, Mandolin & Fiddle Championships, Heritage Fall Foliage Driving Tours, Turkey Trail Dinners, Royalty Court, Car Show, Autumn Glory Sales, Corn Maze, Farmers Markets, Craft Shows, Antique Shows and more. The Mountain Maryland Gateway to the West Heritage Area is a program of the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce which supports heritage tourism in Garrett County through technical assistance and grant opportunities with a focus on heritage-related initiatives that preserve valuable heritage resources and enhance tourism in the County. As a state-certified heritage area, effort is made to create public and private partnerships to preserve historical, cultural, and natural resources focusing on under-utilized resources and fostering a greater sense of community pride.
