WVU Medicine Garrett Regional Medical Center (GRMC) and Potomac Valley Hospital (PVH) are pleased to welcome D. Kishore Yellumahanthi, MD, MPH, assistant professor in the department of dermatology at WVU School of Medicine, to their growing team of specialty care providers.
Dr. Yellumahanthi earned his medical degree from Andhra Medical College in India and subsequently completed postgraduate training in dermatology. With more than two decades of experience caring for patients in a variety of healthcare settings, he brings extensive clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of dermatologic conditions.
Throughout his career, Dr. Yellumahanthi has combined clinical care with teaching, research, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes. He has held several academic dermatology positions, including adjunct assistant professor of dermatology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and dermatology clerkship director for internal medicine residents at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Huntsville Regional Campus.
He also founded and managed a weekly skin clinic at Huntsville Hospital, an 800-plus-bed regional referral center serving North Alabama. Most recently, he led a weekly skin clinic at the UAB Internal Medicine Huntsville Regional Campus, where he evaluated and treated patients with dermatologic conditions referred by internal medicine faculty and residents.
Dr. Yellumahanthi has published research in medical journals and presented his work at national conferences, including the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting. He is also passionate about education and regularly shares his knowledge with primary care providers, trainees, and community members through guest lectures. In 2024, he authored Manual of Primary Care Dermatology, published globally by Springer Nature.
Dr. Yellumahanthi provides comprehensive dermatologic care for patients of all ages, including skin cancer screenings, evaluation and treatment of suspicious lesions, management of chronic skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, acne treatment, treatment of skin infections and other medical dermatology services.
