Mike Hough, Garrett County Director of Economic Development, has announced his resignation effective November 10th, 2020. Mike joined Garrett County Economic Development after his retirement as the Western Maryland and Pennsylvania Regional President of BB&T Corporation. We wish Mike well and the county the best of luck in finding a long-term candidate to fill this critical position.

With overdose deaths here and elsewhere a constant threat, the Garrett County Health Department has acted swiftly and decisively, distributing Narcan and related training through a number of sites in August and September. Garrett Lakes Arts Festival (GLAF) has announced the date for their virtual annual meeting, which will be held on November 19th starting at 5:00 pm. They will be sending out more information and a link in the near future.
