Garrett College is offering a Maryland Boater Safety course at the College’s McHenry campus on Saturday, June 9th, from 8:30am to 5:00pm. According to the credit agency Experian, Maryland, with a 0.09% foreclosure rate by unit, ranks third highest in the nation, well above the national average of 0.06%. They didn’t provide any insight at the county-level, but that would be interesting.
Comptroller Peter Franchot will be here in Garrett County today as part of a promotion for statewide pre-summer family-friendly venues. Franchot will start at the Simon Pearce Factory Store and Glassblowing Workshop, visit Lakeside Creamery and present the William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award for Garrett County to Landon’s Library at the Garrett County Transportation Museum.
