Yesterday was very breezy. Today will be partly sunny, with a high near 59 and a low around 45.

The Mountain Fresh Farmers Market will be back today from 10:00am – 1:00pm in the Downtown Pavilion in Oakland.

The CARC at Garrett College is holding a free P90-X class at 5:15pm this evening and last I heard they had some spots available. P90-X is an all-body workout and the class will be led by Susie and Maney, who have received certification in P90-X instruction. Call 301.387.3786 for more information or to register.

HART for Animals is one of those great non-profit institutions that help make Garrett County THE place to live (and visit) for so many of our readers. Year-to-date through May, HART has conducted 111 adoptions, 93 rescues and transports and 308 spay & neuters. Wow!

Our Town Theatre in Oakland is re-presenting their first production from 20 years ago – The Dining Room – starting this evening at 8:00pm and running through Sunday, June 10th.

The Hogan Administration announced yesterday that the Governor’s Office of Crime Control & Prevention has made more than $2 million available to protect Maryland children as part of the Internet Crimes Against Children grants initiative. These funds are available to child advocacy and law enforcement organizations.

The Chamber is holding their June Business After Hours at Traders Coffee House on Thursday, June 14th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. Brenda, Jean and colleagues have done a remodel and want to show it off!
