The weather today will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. Increasing clouds, with a high near 81 and a low of 68. Southwest wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Note; there is a hazardous weather warning for isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, and isolated instances of flash flooding are possible this afternoon and evening.

The Perseid meteor shower will peak from midnight on August 11 to dawn on August 13 but actually runs from July 23 to August 22, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac. This is one of the biggest showers of the year.
