Garrett Regional Medical Center (GRMC) proudly congratulates two nurses who have successfully completed the nurse residency program. The program is designed to support new graduate nurses as they transition from academic learning to professional nursing practice, ensuring they are well prepared to deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care.
Throughout the six-month program, nurse residents receive structured mentorship, opportunities to collaborate with peers, and guidance in communication, ethical and legal practices, wellness, professional growth, quality improvement, and patient safety. This comprehensive approach helps participants build confidence, strengthen their skills, and establish a strong foundation for long-term success in their nursing careers.
The following nurses have completed the program: Madison Garlitz, medical-surgical unit, and Alison Dillsworth, rehabilitation services.
“Completing the Nurse Residency Program is an important milestone for these nurses,” said Amanda Simmons, manager of clinical education and development at GRMC. “They have worked hard over the past several months to strengthen their knowledge and skills, and we are proud to celebrate their success.”
