The weather today will have a chance of snow in the morning, then snow, freezing rain, and rain in the afternoon. Snow accumulation is around an inch. Ice accumulation of up to a tenth of an inch—highs in the lower 30s and a low of 31. Southeast winds of around 5 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is near 100%.\

The Garrett Coyotes Mountain Bike team finished strong at the Maryland State Finals held at Patapsco State Park! Congratulations to Iris Dubanksy for her first-place individual finish!

In other high school sports, the Northern Garrett Cross Country team is the Maryland State Champion! Southern Garrett Cross Country team finished in overall 4th place.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources reports that hunters harvested 20,220 deer during the early portion of the 2022 archery and muzzleloader seasons. The harvest was a 24% increase from last year’s official harvest of 16,314 deer for the same period. In addition, there are waterfowl hunting opportunities on Deep Creek Lake and Broadford Lake in Garrett County on November 21, 22, and 23, 2022 by permit and reservation only.

The Garrett County Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting today, at 6:00 PM, in the Board Room at Central Office. The meeting is open to the public and will be live-streamed for public review.
