Some rides are about distance and some are about speed. Yesterday wasn’t either of those. It was about getting out of my head and just trying.

We rolled out for a fun Sunday knowing the Deep Creek Lake State Park trail system has some climbs, has some rocks, and has some tech. How lucky are we to have this option in our backyard?! Our group rode together, encouraged each other, and stopped to figure things out… it was a ton of fun.

The only downside of the day was one bent rim and a friend who had to walk the bike out. But, it happens.

We were closing in on 10 miles when I had to peel off to make my U9 coaches softball meeting (Go Red Foxs!)

When I left, I left smiling and feeling way more confident on this trail system. If you’ve been overthinking it, this is your sign. Just show up. Ride with people who make it fun. Take a shot at something that challenges you.
