CHIPS Network Shentel Update

Tonight, September 5, the crescent moon will appear to the right of the bright planet Jupiter in the early evening and the evening moon will appear half-full with its right side in the sun’s light. The evenings of September 4-6 are the best for spotting lunar surface features with a telescope.

The Ruth Enlow Library has announced a new club, “The Make It Club”! There is new craft to make each month and all materials will be provided. Happening tonight at 3:30pm at the Grantsville Branch — register with Kim Lishia at 301-895-5298 ext. 0141.

Roots Yoga is beginning a youth yoga program. Mon-Thurs @4:15pm to learn breath control, emotional regulation, body autonomy, and mindfulness while unwinding their busy minds from the school day.

Deep Creek Lake will receive about $420,000 from the State Lakes Protection and Restoration Fund. Projects will include invasive species control efforts, shoreline stabilization efforts, and construction of fish habitat structures. The MD DNR will conduct another round of open houses to solicit projects beginning in July 2020.
