Lots of demand for good truck drivers out there. Garrett College is accepting applications for the next series of courses geared toward training individuals to obtain a commercial driver’s license. Training for both Class A (in 30 days) and Class B (in six days) will be provided. Training for Class A, weekday will begin on October 8th and the weekend is slated to start on October 6th. Garrett College and Garrett County Public Schools are partnering to host the annual Garrett County College Expo. This daytime only event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 9th from 9:00am – 11:30am in the Garrett College Community Aquatic & Recreation Complex (CARC) in McHenry. We are blessed here in Garrett County with a good road system and very limited traffic, but it is an issue nationally and elsewhere in the state, with implications for us here on the mountain. The Greater Baltimore Committee is hosting 2018 Transportation Summit: “Our Neglected Transportation Infrastructure” on October 13th in Baltimore. I thought I would share.
