Congratulations to Ed Friend Sr. (paper) and Wayne Boarder (online), the winners of the GOBA 50/50 raffle. Congratulations are also in order for Laura and Mark Stutzman, who worked tirelessly to create, launch and promote the raffle.

October 28th is Garrett County’s Drug Free Communities Coalition “Take Back Day,” where County citizens can bring in over-the-counter and prescription medications to McHenry Police Barracks, Garrett County Sheriff’s office and Oakland City Hall.

Plenty of good fishing at Deep Creek Lake and throughout the state for all of you anglers.

Remembering our local and national military: On November 10th, Garrett College will take part in a nationwide effort to honor American service men and women who died in Iraq and Afghanistan during the past decade by holding a Remembrance Day National Roll Call in the auditorium located on the McHenry campus.  The event starts at 7:00am and runs into the afternoon.
