Garrett College announced that it is the recipient of a $2 million gift from a trust set up by the late Daniel E. Offutt III, an Oakland native who was an artist, metal sculptor and philanthropist. This gift will go towards supporting the college’s new STEM building, programs and scholarships. Congratulations!

Speaking of grants and Garrett College, their Continuing Education division is offering an “Introduction to Grant Writing” workshop on November 5th and 12th, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the G.C. Northern Outreach Center in Grantsville. Call 301.387.3069 for more information or to register. This introductory workshop is for those who are unsure of how to write a grant, approach funding sources, or make grant dollars work for their needs.

You can choose an old favorite or a new tune and sing your heart out with Music Express at Black Bear Karaoke tonight from 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm at the Black Bear Tavern!
