Our Town Theater in Oakland is holding their annual Ghost Walk beginning this evening at 7:00pm (sold out) but also Friday and Saturday evenings.

Grantsville Community Museum Annual Dinner & Fundraiser program will be held this weekend October 21. The program will be Archaeological Discoveries Found in the Design of the New Route 219 at Hilltop. The Allegany Arts Council is hosting professional watercolor artist Alexis Lavine at the Saville Gallery in Cumberland through October 29th.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources issued their latest Fall Foliage and Festival report yesterday. While Autumn Glory is over and some of our vistas may be a bit “past peak” there is still some good leaf peeping here and in the area.

If you write poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction and reside in the Garrett County area and/or are a member of Garrett County Arts Council, they are looking for you to submit your creative writing work.  Deadline for submission is Oct. 31, 2017. Walleye, large yellow perch and smallmouth bass fishing at Deep Creek Lake has improved due to cooler water temperatures.
