You can take a hike to the historic Brant Mine this morning at 10:00am. The hike “starts” at the Discovery Center’s historic mine room and continues until 12:00, with moderate walking.

There’s some good fishing for largemouth bass at the lake at this time according to Maryland’s Department of Natural Resources Fishing Report.
We just heard that Garrett County Officials and the Department of Natural Resources have agreed that the $250,000 which was previously approved (2016) for Deep Creek Lake dredging will be reallocated to study sedimentation processes and develop a sediment mitigation/remediation plan.
Check out this trailer for the Wings of a Dove documentary premiere event featuring the Crellin Elementary School steel drum band and Engage Mountain Maryland on September 14th. The documentary was presented to the Garrett County Board of Education and the presentation included the story of how the documentary came to be, the importance of arts education in public schools, and how community support can enhance the learning experience for students.
