Garrett Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce Oakland residents – Gracie Plessinger and Brayden Warnick – have successfully completed the hospital’s nurse extern program over the summer.
Plessinger is currently enrolled at Allegany College of Maryland and Warnick is a student at West Virginia University.
GRMC’s nurse extern program is a paid, eight-week program available for nursing students currently enrolled in a State Board of Nursing-approved program. The program allows participants to rotate through various nursing departments while learning about career opportunities available at GRMC.
Both students worked as a members of the GRMC team under the direction of an experienced RN mentor to obtain valuable clinical experience and skills.
