The Southern Garrett High School Alumni Association will present a “(WAY) Back to School Night” on Thursday, September 7, at The Vagabond Taproom.
The Southern Garrett High School Association invites all Southern alumni and friends of Southern High School to attend and encourages them to bring their family, friends, and former classmates. The evening will serve as an opportunity to celebrate the Rams and learn more about the Alumni Association’s role in the community.
“We are so excited to hold this upcoming event, and thank Vagabond for its invaluable assistance,” said Bill Grant, President of the SGHSAA. “We hope both alumni and friends of Southern will come out for fun and fellowship, and learn more about how the Southern Garrett High School Alumni Association brings together alumni and serves the students of our beloved alma mater.”
There is no cost for entry and Vagabond’s full food and drink menu will be available for purchase. Show your Ram pride by wearing Southern colors and get half-off any appetizer. If you’re not currently a member of SGHSAA, Board member Nick Sharps will be present with information and a special offer to join.
“(WAY) Back to School Night” begins at 5:30 pm on Thursday, September 7, 2023. The Vagabond Taproom is located at 215 E Alder Street, Oakland, MD 21550. You can view Vagabond’s drinks and small plates menus online at vagabondtaps.com.
The Southern Garrett High School Alumni Association was born out of the vision of founding President, Robert P. Sharps. In early 2001, he gathered a group of Southern graduates to explore the viability of an alumni association to serve students, the school, and alumni.
The Southern Garrett High School Alumni Association was incorporated on April 1, 2001, and subsequently received its designation as a Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization from the IRS. Some highlights include over $180,000 in scholarships, the purchase of needed equipment ranging from a spectrometer to stage curtains, and the induction of a dozen alumni into the Hall of Fame.
