Operation Green Light Begins!

Operation Green Light Begins at Deep Creek Lake, MD

Please join the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs this week in Operation Green Light, a National Association of Counties campaign.  We encourage Marylanders to illuminate their businesses and homes in green from November 6 to November 12 to show our veterans and families that they are seen, appreciated, and supported.

Governor Wes Moore’s message for Operation Green Light

Use the green light to spark conversation, to encourage a veteran or family member to share their story of service, to take a military culture or suicide prevention training, and share resources with our veterans and families.

Many Maryland counties are joining us this year by illuminating government buildings, signing proclamations, and hosting events.  More than 40 landmarks will also be illuminated including the Governor’s Mansion, M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore Aquarium, and Washington College.  See a complete list of participating counties, state agencies, and landmark illuminations here.

November 6 also kicks off five days of green-light social media spotlights on state programs and benefits for service members, veterans, and families!  Just in case you’re not following us on social media, check out our spotlights here.
