Nursing Assistants at Garrett Regional Medical Center Honored with Sunshine Awards

Garrett Regional Medical Center (GRMC) recently recognized two employees with the Sunshine Award in honor of their exceptional compassion, kindness, and dedication to patient care.

Katelyn Bernard, certified nursing assistant in the emergency department, and Amber Brant, geriatric nursing assistant in subacute, were selected for consistently demonstrating a patient-centered approach and a genuine commitment to ensuring patients feel welcomed, supported, and cared for. According to their nomination forms, their attentiveness and empathy provide comfort and reassurance, particularly during times when patients may be experiencing illness, fear, or uncertainty.

The Sunshine Award recognizes clinical support staff members who exemplify outstanding service and compassion in their daily work. Bernard and Brant’s dedication reflects the core values and mission of GRMC and contributes to a positive experience for patients and their families.
