New Courthouse and Admin Building Visitor Management Procedures

The Board of Garrett County Commissioners and the Garrett County Sheriff’s Department will implement new visitor management procedures at the Garrett County Courthouse and Administrative Offices, located at 317 E. Alder Street in Oakland.

These changes strengthen measures to meet mandated court security requirements and prioritize emergency safety for employees and the public. Visitors will continue to have full access to state and county services while visiting the Courthouse and Administrative Offices.

The new procedures will help maintain a safe, secure environment for visitors and staff while continuing to provide accessible, efficient services. They also align with best practices for courthouse and administrative building security. The official implementation date is March 30, 2026.
