Garrett County Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Heather Roth as the new Teaching Principal of Friendsville Elementary School, effective for the 2026-27 school year.
Roth brings a strong connection to the Friendsville community to her new role, having previously served as the Friendsville Community School Coordinator since 2024. In that position, she worked closely with students, families, staff, and community partners to strengthen connections and support the needs of the school community.
Her experience in the Community School Coordinator role provides Mrs. Roth with an established understanding of the school, its families, and the broader Friendsville community as she transitions into school leadership.
“We are excited to welcome Mrs. Heather Roth into this leadership role at Friendsville Elementary School,” said Mrs. Candy Maust, Director of Elementary Education. “Mrs. Roth has already demonstrated a strong commitment to students, families, and the Friendsville community. Her relationships and experience will serve her well as she takes on this new responsibility.”
As principal, Roth will focus on supporting student achievement, fostering a positive school culture, and continuing to build strong partnerships among the school, families, and community.
