There was an attempted kidnapping of a five-year-old boy in Cumberland Saturday. The boy is safe and the kidnapper has been apprehended.
Successful Rural Broadband Launch: A Garrett County initiative began ahead of schedule, bringing residents in Garrett County closer to broadband accessibility. This was one of two pilot programs established by the governor Hogan’s June 2017 executive order creating an Office of Rural Broadband to improve connectivity for economic and public safety purposes, with a focus on communities that have largely been ignored.
The Maryland State Police McHenry Barrack is searching for the owner of construction equipment items that were found on Friendsville Road (MD Route 42) between Friendsville and McHenry, during the week of 10/23/2017.
