A great time had by all at Commissioner Paul Edwards’ fundraiser Sunday afternoon: good music, conversation and food, and nice to support a great fellow working tirelessly to help our County. It was also good to see a number of attendees present that “crossed the aisle” to support Paul.

We all know Garrett County is a great place and that we all have reason to be optimistic, but it looks like the rest of the country is catching up. The just released University of Maryland Consumer Confidence Index shows a surge in consumer confidence from a year earlier.

Garrett College Continuing Education Operations Coordinator, Ag program manager and overall great person, Sarah Friend has posted a survey for farmers and others in agriculture to complete.

Oakland’s GOBA needs your help. Please buy a ticket for the GOBA 50/50 raffle on sale online until Noon today or on paper through tomorrow 5:00pm.  If Oakland succeeds, the County succeeds…

Don’t forget about the Lion’s Club Annual Halloween Parade TOMORROW night at the Oakland Armory beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event will have games, cake walks, prizes, raffles and the winner of the GOBA 50/50 Raffle will be announced!

The Ruth Enlow Library of Garrett County and Our Town Theatre will co-host a free World War I Canteen to honor Garrett County’s veterans on Saturday, November 11, from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at the theatre.
