The weather today will be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 48 and a low around 36. Southwest wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

I was surprised to wake up to snow yesterday morning but it didn’t stop me from taking a hike at Deep Creek Lake State Park. My friend and I did the Indian Turnip Trail, to the Lookout Trail, to Beckman’s Trail, and finally to Meadow Mountain Trail. About 5 snowy and windy miles. Some of the best scenery around, though!

Deep Creek Lake State Park has a few camp host positions available for the summer of 2020. For more information, please contact Ken Dzaack at ken.dzaack@maryland.gov or the park at 301-387-5563. A typical camp host is a volunteer that stays at the campground all summer to help other campers, answer questions, and maintain the campground.
