Monday February 11

As I write these Daily Notes Sunday evening we are getting a dusting of snow, with the temperature just at the freezing mark. Today’s weather will be rain and snow, becoming all rain after noon. High near 36 and a low around 30. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Tonight snow and freezing rain, becoming all freezing rain after 8pm with new ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.3 of an inch possible but little or no snow accumulation expected.

Our congratulations to Phyllis Trickett, who has been recognized for her many contributions to the Garrett County community and to the State of Maryland, by being inducted into the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame!  The induction ceremony will be held on March 21st at the Miller Senate Office Building in Annapolis and is open to all that register. For more information, visit the Maryland Commission for Women’s website or call 301.610.4522.

I went to a movie at Garrett 8 Cinema’s Saturday – the film was called “Glass.”  It was a little strange, as in keeping with most of M. Night Shyamalan films, but if you like supernatural and super hero “hybrids”  that take a while to develop, you might enjoy Glass. Definitely not mainstream entertainment, but an enjoyable escape.

The Ruth Enlow Library, Grantsville branch, is hosting a workshop on Bullet Journaling this evening starting at 6:00 pm. Planners/to-do lists typically only focus on what you’re doing in the future, and diaries typically focus on what you did that day. Bullet journaling is different. Learn streamlining tips to record what is happening in your life and keep track of your future goals.
