The weather today will be showers in the morning until afternoon, then have snow showers, likely in the afternoon with little or no snow accumulation—highs in the upper 50s and a low of 21. The temperature will fall into the lower 40s in the afternoon. Southwest winds of 15 to 20 mph, becoming west in the afternoon with gusts up to 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

We had a very successful Global Fat Tire Bike Day event! It was SO good to see about 30 participants — a majority of whom had not ever been on a fat bike nor biking in the winter! There are two organized rides that are coming up and I’ll keep you posted! In the meantime, check out the ways you can support DCAB (either as a one-time founding member or an annual member!)

Accident Husky Pups are holding a “MistleTOES Sock Drive”. Initially, the goal was 700 pairs of socks to gift to residents in our county’s nursing homes and assisted living facilities…and on day two of collection 640 pairs were counted so the new goal is 1400 pairs of socks by December 10th! Tomorrow, December 7, 2021, is a staff development day for Garrett County Public Schools. There will be a three-hour early dismissal for students and professional time for staff in the afternoon.

A set of children’s skis have been listed in our online marketplace — under SKIS and SNOWBOARDS.

🎉 Celebrating 150 Years of Connecting Communities! Join for the official launch of the sesquicentennial, or 150th anniversary, series of events to commemorate the incorporation of Garrett County on December 4, 1872. This kick-off program will be a short preview of the 2022 year-long, county-wide celebration plans. All are welcome, and light refreshments will be served.
