Garrett College has a rocky history – and that’s not a bad thing, according to David Bolton.
Bolton, a retired hydrogeologist, will present Geology in Garrett County as December’s Joan Crawford Lecture Series speaker. His presentation will take place Wednesday, December 4th at 6:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center at Garrett College’s conference center.
“Garrett County has some unique features that distinguish it from the rest of the state,” said Bolton, who retired in 2018 as the hydrogeology program chief for the Department of Natural Resources’ Maryland Geological Survey. Bolton said his presentation will look to answer questions about the County’s geology, including what the kind of rocks found in Garrett County “tell us about the past.”
The Joan Crawford Lecture Series honors dynamic educator Joan R. Crawford, who died in 2010 after serving the Garrett College community for 30 years in a variety of faculty and staff roles. JCLS presentations are offered free of charge, and the public and community members are invited to attend.
