With the 2026-27 school year just around the corner, Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) is helping families get ready with the launch of its Back-to-School Hub, a centralized online resource designed to make preparing for the new school year easier.
The Back-to-School Hub serves as the starting point for families looking for important information before students return to school on Monday, August 31. The hub includes resources covering some of the most common questions families have as they prepare for the first day. Information includes:
- School Supply Lists — Find the supplies students will need for the upcoming school year, with links to each school’s lists.
- 2026-27 School Calendar — Review important dates, including the first and last days of school, holidays, breaks and other scheduled days.
- Transportation Information — Access information to help families prepare for bus transportation (bus routes should be released the week of August 17th).
- Food & Nutrition Services — Learn more about school meals and food and nutrition services available to students.
- Registration Information — Find information for families registering students for the first time or completing enrollment requirements.
- School Contact Information — Quickly find contact information for GCPS schools and connect with school staff when questions arise.
Over the next three weeks, GCPS will highlight additional information and resources designed to help parents and guardians prepare for a successful start to the school year.
