GCPS Calendar Reminders and Updates

Please take note of the following calendar reminders from Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS):

  • All students will be dismissed three hours early on Friday, February 14, 2025, for staff development in the afternoon. Please note: If there is a 2- or 3-hour delay on Friday morning, classes will remain in session for the entire day, and the early dismissal/staff development will be canceled.
  • All GCPS schools and administrative offices will be open on Monday, February 17, 2025, as a make-up day on Presidents’ Day.
During the February 11, 2025, Board meeting, several updates were made to the school calendar:

  • June 9th, 10th, and 11th were approved as make-up days to accommodate the missed instructional time due to inclement weather closings (February 17th and April 21st were previously approved as make-up days). If additional inclement weather days occur, make-up days will be determined at a future Board meeting.
  • The last day for seniors will be May 28th. Graduations are set for Saturday, May 31st, for both high schools.

All updates are available on our GCPS Google Calendar.
