Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) proudly honored its 2026 retirees during the annual Retiree Celebration held on the evening of June 3, 2026. The event celebrated the dedicated service, commitment, and lasting contributions of employees who have each made a significant impact on students, schools, and the Garrett County community throughout their careers.
A total of twelve employees were recognized for their years of service to GCPS. Seven retirees attended the event and were joined by family members, colleagues, members of the Garrett County Board of Education, and school system administrators. Five additional retirees who were unable to attend were also recognized.
The annual retirement celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on the accomplishments of retiring employees and to express gratitude for their dedication to public education. Throughout their careers, these individuals have helped shape the lives of countless students while contributing to the success and growth of Garrett County Public Schools.
During the evening, retirees were individually recognized and presented with a commemorative gift in appreciation of their service. Attendees also enjoyed an opportunity to share memories and celebrate the achievements of this year’s retiring class.
