Only hospital in Maryland recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review for 5-star cleanliness rating
Garrett Regional Medical Center (GRMC) has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the 386 cleanest hospitals in the United States—and the only hospital in Maryland to earn this distinction.
The list highlights hospitals that achieved a 5-star cleanliness rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), based on results from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. This national, standardized survey asks patients about their experiences during recent inpatient hospital stays.
Survey data, collected between October 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024, was most recently updated on August 6.
“At GRMC, patient safety and experience are at the center of everything we do,” said Mark Boucot, President & CEO of Garrett Regional Medical Center and Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser, W.Va. “This recognition reflects our team’s outstanding dedication to providing the highest quality care in an environment that patients and families can trust. I’m incredibly proud of our staff for the pride they take in making GRMC a clean, safe, and welcoming place to receive care.”
