Garrett Regional Medical Center honors Breanna Sphar, LPN, with DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses

WVU Medicine Garrett Regional Medical Center is proud to recognize Breanna Sphar, LPN, of the medical surgical unit, as the recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.

The DAISY Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide to patients and families every day. Breanna was nominated by patients, families, and colleagues for her dedication, professionalism, and compassionate approach to patient care.

According to her nomination form, one patient shared: “My stay was perfect. GRMC is a well-oiled machine. Bre was my daytime nurse, and she was truly incredible. She was on point and fluent with everything she did. I will miss GRMC because of Bre. Nursing is her calling.”

The DAISY Foundation was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes by members of his family after he passed away from complications of an autoimmune disease. The foundation’s mission is to recognize nurses for the extraordinary and compassionate care they provide.
