2025 Gala nets $70,000 to benefit Aspiring Nurse Program
Garrett Regional Medical Center’s (GRMC) bi-annual Foundation Gala, themed Diamonds and Decades, brought together more than 400 community members on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Ag Heritage Hall at the Garrett County Fairgrounds. The event, held in honor of GRMC’s 75th anniversary, raised $70,000 to benefit the hospital’s Aspiring Nurse Program.
This year’s gala celebrated GRMC’s rich history of care since opening its doors in 1950. Guests enjoyed an upscale dinner provided by Huckleberry’s Catering, desserts from Trader’s Coffee House, bar service courtesy of Frame and Flask, live music during cocktail hour, and a DJ who closed out the evening with dancing. Attendees also participated in a robust silent auction featuring generously donated items from local businesses and supporters.

The success of this event reflects not only our longstanding commitment to excellence, but also the unwavering support of the community we proudly serve. The Aspiring Nurse Program, the beneficiary of this year’s fundraising efforts, provides scholarship opportunities and professional support to nursing students in Garrett County and the surrounding region. Designed to reduce financial barriers, the program plays a vital role in developing the next generation of nurses and ensuring the continued legacy of quality care at GRMC.
“The gala committee worked tirelessly to create an elegant and memorable evening celebrating GRMC’s past, present, and future,” said Emily Tusing, Executive Director of Foundation and Marketing. “Transforming the Ag Heritage Hall into a stunning black-tie venue is always a rewarding challenge, and we are grateful for the community’s overwhelming support of our mission.”
During the evening’s program, GRMC recognized several individuals whose dedication, leadership, and service have made a lasting impact on the hospital and the community. Honorees included Dr. Charles Walch, Kimi-Scott McGreevy, Dr. Stanley Lambert, Steve Stuck, and Norma Hessen. Each honoree was acknowledged for their outstanding contributions to patient care, organizational excellence, and the continued advancement of GRMC’s mission. In addition, Albert W. Wright, Jr., President & CEO of the West Virginia University Health System, attended as a special guest for the evening.
