Garrett Regional Medical Center CFO, Tracy Lipscomb, CPA, CHFP elected to the Maryland Hospital Association’s Council on Financial Policy

Garrett Regional Medical Center (GRMC) is proud to announce Tracy Lipscomb, Senior Vice President of Financial Services and Chief Financial Officer, has been elected to serve on the Maryland Hospital Association’s Council on Financial Policy.

“I am honored to be elected to this prestigious council. I look forward to the opportunity to work closely with the Maryland Hospital Association on important financial policies the affect not only our own hospital, but hospitals throughout the state,” stated Ms. Lipscomb.

The Financial Policy Council consists of hospital senior executives who focus on helping hospitals and the state succeed under Maryland’s unique agreement with the federal government that regulates hospital rates. The Council helps create the vision and structure for implementation of Maryland’s hospital payment system, and promotes support for these changes. Through the ongoing evaluation of all aspects of the payment system, the Council works to secure the financial resources needed to help hospitals take care of people and make communities healthier.

A native of Garett County, Ms. Lipscomb graduated from Southern High School before attending Frostburg State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. She began her career at Bausch and Lomb, where she worked in accounting for twelve years. In 1999 she joined GRMC as the Director of Accounting before being promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2007. Over the years, Ms. Lipscomb has been instrumental in helping direct enhancements to the hospital’s accounting processes and systems. She is an active member of the Healthcare Finical Management Association and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.
